Instagram may impose a fee for the blue verification mark, following Twitter.

Instagram now appears to be planning to charge users for the paid check mark, a move that recently made headlines on Twitter. One of the most well-liked social media sites after Twitter is Instagram, where users can identify your account as a well-known person by looking for the blue badge.

Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer, has recently discovered some code that suggests Instagram may soon add a paid verification feature. IDV, according to the source cited, stands for “identity verification.” Whether the tech company is seriously thinking about going public is currently unknown.

Twitter’s blue subscription, which comes with a verified badge and other perks, currently costs web users $8 per month. Users of iOS or Android must pay $11 each month. The US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Spain are the current countries where it is sold.

The microblogging service has not yet introduced the same feature in India. However, the Apple App Store has documented instances of this. Users of iOS might have to pay Rs 999 domestically. Elon Musk promised that the Blue subscription would also be announced in India last November, but that hasn’t happened yet.

If Instagram starts charging for the verification badge as Twitter does, anyone using the platform will be able to get the blue checkmark by paying money. There is a chance that the dominant social media platform will impose fees on users who obtain Instagram and Facebook verification. There is currently a lack of clarity regarding this feature.

Also recently revealed by Instagram is its testing of the Candid Stories feature, which will let users record and upload whatever they are doing to a Story. Only those who will also be sharing their own Candid Stories will be able to see this, though. The function appears to be a copy of the BeReal app’s concept.

Instagram has developed into a platform where users attempt to post flawless images or brief videos with filters, but it appears the website wants users to be more grounded. The BeReal app served as inspiration for the feature you are adding. The business has acknowledged that it is testing a related feature for Facebook Stories.
